Election Eve
As you have heard us say many times in the past ten days, please vote. And as you vote, please pray. Pray for wisdom. Pray for a peaceful transfer of power no matter who is elected. Pray for our country.
The church will be open from 7am to 8pm tomorrow, November 5th. You are welcome to come by and sit in the quiet, pray, medidate, take a breath, read a psalm. Whatever you may need to be centered on this important day for our country. You are welcome to let neighbors and friends know also if you think a place of peace would be of help to them.
Our prayer for tomorrow comes from our Book of Common Prayer, Prayers for the Social Order:
Grant, O God, that your holy and life-giving Spirit may so move every human heart and especially the hearts of the people of this land, that barriers which divide us may crumble, suspicions disappear, and hatreds cease; that our divisions being healed, we may live in justice and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
God's Peace,
The Clergy and Staff of St. Cross
